Held

Ruth G. Held, 83, of Evans City died Saturday at UPMC Passavant Cranberry in Cranberry Township.

Born Aug. 1, 1923, in Zelienople, she was the daughter of Delmont and Ruth Stouffer Garvin.

Mrs. Held was a member of the Westminster United Presbyterian Church, Evans City.

She had been an executive secretary at the TASA Coal Co. and later was secretary/bookkeeper of The Copy Shop in New Castle, which she owned with her husband.

She had served as a Girl Scout leader for years.

Surviving are two daughters, Pamela R. Held Tillia and her husband, Jesse Tillia, of Lancaster, N.Y., and Marsha Huttinger and her husband, Larry Barnhart, of Zelienople; a brother, Robert Garvin of Bandera, Texas; and four grandchildren, Megan E. and Lauren A. Tillia and E.J. and Danielle M. Huttinger.

Her husband, Edwin L. Held, died in 1991. She also was preceded in death by a sister, June Garvin Bargiband.

<B>HELD</B> — Friends of Ruth G. Held, who died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Boylan Funeral Home</B>, 116 E. Main St., Evans City.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with her pastor, the Rev. John C. Park, officiating.Burial at the Evans City Cemetery will be private.Memorial donations may be made to the Evans City Public Library, 204 S.
