5:49 p.m. Feb. 2 — Randy Lee Hoover, 58, of 218 N. Clay St., Apt. H, Zelienople, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and disregard of traffic lane charges after police witnessed the driver lose control of his vehicle and hit a hillside near the intersection of Little Creek and Nickel roads.7:31 p.m. Feb. 10 — Police charged Michael Maruska, Jr., 58, of Cochranton of driving under the influence of alcohol after the man flagged down police on Little Creek Road because his vehicle ran out of gas. He had requested police take him to a service station. Further questioning by police, coupled with the smell of alcohol and his behavior led to his arrest.
5:25 p.m. Wednesday — Brian Fix, no age given, of Portersville was arrested for allegedly assaulting a 24-year-old Portersville woman during an altercation on Robbie Way in Muddy Creek Township. Fix is charged with simple assault and harassment. Police did not identify the woman.3 p.m. Wednesday — A pickup truck driven by Wesley Bowser, 29, of Karns City skidded on snow-covered Hooker Road in Concord Township and struck a concrete bridge barrier.1:38 a.m. Wednesday — At ractor-trailer driven by Gustaf Norling III, 57, of West Sunbury struck the trailer of another rig that moments earlier had jackknifed on Interstate 79 in Jackson Township.Police said Norling swerved his truck but was unable to avoid the other tractor-trailer driven by Thomas Bane III, 36, of Irwin, Westmoreland County. The crash temporarily closed the highway.9:41 a.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Rachel Jones, 20, of Butler struck a rock wall and tree along Route 308 in Center Township.8:30 a.m. Wednesday — Acar driven by Nichlas Cannon, 27, of Cranberry Township struck a guardrail on an icy section of Interstate 79 in Muddy Creek Township.8:15 a.m. Wednesday — A mini-van driven by Khanh Trang, 34, of Steubenville, Ohio, skidded off slush-covered Interstate 79 in Jackson Township and struck an embankment.6:01 a.m. Wednesday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Deborah Wonderling, 55, of Lyndora skidded on snow-covered Route 68 in Connoquenessing and struck a guardrail. Wonderling was cited for an undisclosed traffic violation.1:20 a.m. Wednesday — Phillip Bullock, 20, of Rochester, N.Y., was cited for possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop for speeding on Interstate 79 in Muddy Creek Township.12:40 a.m. Wednesday — Kelly McBride, 23, of Crafton, Allegheny County, was cited for possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop for improperly displaying the vehicle's registration on Interstate 79 in Worth Township.
