Marjorie J. Park

Marjorie J. Park passed away peacefully on Friday at Martin Memorial Hospital (North) in Stuart, Fla.

She was born Oct. 15, 1933, in Pittsburgh. She graduated from Mars High School and Westminster College, receiving a bachelor's degree in business administration. She was selected by her fellow students to be the 1954 Westminster May Queen and was active in campus organizations, including the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority.

Following marriage to James Park in 1956, she lived in Huntsville, Ala., and Monroeville, Pa., before a 25-year residency in Richmond, Va., where she was active in numerous church, school and community activities, many of which centered on the care, development and nurturing of four children through their early years.

She was a volunteer in various community organizations, where she developed a faithful, dependable and caring concern for all with whom she came in contact. Margie's departure from Richmond came in 1984, when her husband accepted a new position in Florida, prompted an unprecedented outpouring of compliments, fond remembrances and heartfelt best wishes for the Park family. These were presented in a surprise farewell ceremony at Forest Hill Presbyterian Church.

Margie is survived by her husband, James Park. Margie and Jim celebrated 50 years of marriage with a memorable Caribbean cruise accompanied by their children, spouses and grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Doug Park (Gayle); three daughters, Sandy Hartje (Phil), Jackie Steward (Rob) and Wendy Auer (Steve); and five grandchildren, Eric, Sam and Lara Park and, Michael and Ellie Steward.

The deep love and affection shared with their mother and grandmother over the years has been a constant source of joy, strength and unity for the Park children and grandchildren.

Margie is also survived by a sister, Alice Stanley.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Rodger.

<B>PARK </B>— A memorial service for Marjorie J. Park, who died Friday, Jan. 12, 2007, was held at 2 p.m. today at Palm City Presbyterian Church in Palm City, Fla.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Palm City Presbyterian Church 2500 Martin Highway, Palm City, FL 34990.
