BC3 film festival celebrates women
LUNAFEST, the fundraising film festival dedicated to promoting awareness about women's issues, highlighting women filmmakers, and bringing women together in their communities, will take place from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. March 15 at Butler County Community College's Succop Theater.
This unique film festival highlights women as leaders in society, illustrated through nine films by women filmmakers. The films range from animated shorts to fictional drama, and cover topics such as women's health, body image, spirituality, relationships, cultural diversity, and breaking barriers.
All proceeds from LUNAFEST will go to the Butler Branch of the American Association of University Women and the Breast Cancer Fund. Thus far, LUNAFEST, which is sponsored by LUNA, the Whole Nutrition Bar for Women, has raised more than $100,000 for the Breast Cancer Fund and more than $250,000 for other women's nonprofits.
Tickets are $5 and parking is free. Tickets are available at the Butler Symphony Association office and the Travel Centre of Butler, both on Main Street, or at the door.
