Linda M. Slater
Linda M. Slater, 55, of Barto Lane in Chicora died early Thursday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born March 24, 1951, in Pittsburgh, she was a daughter of Charles Hartle and the late Elaine Morrisey Hartle.
She was a 1969 graduate of Butler High School. She also was a graduate of the Butler Beauty School and owned and operated the Country Cuts Plus Beauty Shop in her home until her illness.
Mrs. Slater was a member of St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church in Carbon Center. She also was a member of the VFW Post 249 Auxiliary.
She enjoyed golfing and was a member of the Thursday Evening Ladies Golf League at the Hiland Golf Course. She also liked to sun bathe and swim and enjoyed flower gardening.
Surviving are her husband, Gary L. Slater, whom she married Jan. 30, 1971; three sons, Greg, Ray and Michael Slater, all of Butler; a daughter, Beth Slater of Scranton; her father of Butler; and five brothers, Charles Jr., Kenneth, Dennis and Robert Hartle, all of Butler, and John Hartle of Tennessee.
Five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
