Irene Ames
Irene Mackrell Ames, 83, of Newhaven Court, Zelienople, died Wednesday night after an illness.
Born May 24, 1923, in Easton, Pa., she was the daughter of Roy H. and Mamie Brandt Weller.
She was a member of the Calvin Presbyterian Church in Zelienople and the Grange in Slippery Rock.
She had served on the Butler County Symphony Board, and sang in the symphonic choirs in Butler. She enjoyed reading, gardening, quilting and spending time with her family.
Surviving are her husband, Robert Ames of Newhaven Court, whom she married Jan. 23, 1999; two daughters, Mrs. Ron (Norene) Kniess of Rochester, Pa., and Mrs. Steve (Lauryl Spence)Hepler of Sarver; two sons, Neal Mackrell of Cost Mesa, Calif., and Gordon Mackrell and his wife, Marge of Portersville; a brother, Neale Weller and his wife, Florence, of Easton, Pa.; six grandchildren, Renee, Brian, Aaron, Jennyrose, Jonathan, and Benjiman; four great-grandchildren, Rachel, Heather, Holly, and Jon Jr.; and two great-great-grandchildren, Alyssa, and Develyn.
One brother, BillWeller, preceded her in death.
<B>AMES</B> — A memorial service for Irene Mackrell Ames, who died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2007, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at The Seaman Chapel at Passavant Health Center in Zelienople, with the Rev. John Foester, officiating.There will be no public visitation.Burial will be at the Church of the Brethren in Farmington, Pa.Memorial donations can be made to the charity of the donor's choice.Arrangements by <B>The Jay Bryan Funeral Home</B> in Prospect.
