Charles W. Conaway Jr.
Charles W. Conaway Jr., 78, of Butler died at 6:40 p.m. Tuesday at his home.
Born April 27, 1928, in Chickasaw, Armstrong County, he was the son of Charles W. Sr. and Mary E. Patrick Conaway.
He was a member of the Nixon United Methodist Church. He also was a member of the Masonic Lodge 272 F&AM and the Scottish Rite of New Castle and delivered for Meals on Wheels for the South Butler program.
Mr. Conaway retired from US Steel in Saxonburg and from the Butler Auto Auction and was a former treasurer of the United Steelworkers of America Local 5768.
Surviving are his wife, B. Gail Kentfield Conaway, whom he married June 27, 1953; a sister, Sara E. Bowser of Kentucky; two brothers, Robert J. Conaway and his wife, Norma, of Clarksburg, Indiana County, and Clarence S. Conaway and his wife, Jean, of Freeport; a sister-in-law and her husband, Mary Jo and Joseph Pauline of Kittanning; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
<B>CONAWAY</B> — Friends of Charles W. Conaway Jr., who died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the <B>Young Funeral Home</B>, 127 W. Jefferson St.Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with his church pastor, the Rev.
