Gloria J. Crissman

Gloria Jean Crissman, 67, of Kittanning died Tuesday at ACMH Hospital, Kittanning.

Born Oct. 17, 1939, in East Franklin Township, Armstrong County, she was the daughter of Harry French, who died in 1969, and Edith Mae John French, who died in 1981.

She was a member of the Brush Valley Brethren Church, where she held many offices over the years. In 2005, she was voted Woman of the Year by the Ladies Auxiliary Board; and her daughter succeeded her in that position in 2006.

Mrs. Crissman was a licensed practical nurse and had practiced hospice care throughout the Kittanning area, and she was one of the original board members of the Cowansville Medical Center. She also had worked on the East Franklin Township Election Board for some time.

She enjoyed square dancing with the Alamo Squares in Frogtown for years. She also enjoyed camping at the Holiday Campland in Andover, Ohio, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are her husband, Edward "Allen" Crissman, whom she married June 28, 1958; two sons, Dave Crissman and his wife, Karen, of Butler and Darrell Crissman of Nobelsville, Ind.; and three daughters, Lisa Kutch and her husband, Tim, of Kittanning, Pam Bowser of Worthington and Amy Rottman and her husband, Dave, of Cowansville.

She also is survived by 10 grandchildren, Charity Smail and her husband, Ritchie, and Tim Jr., Adam and Caitlyn Kutch, all of Kittanning; David and Rebecca Crissman, both of Butler, Brandon Murtland of Worthington; Matt and Christopher Crissman, both of Nobelsville; Teija Rottman of Apollo; a grandchild due in April; and a great-granddaughter, Laney Smail of Kittanning.

In addition, siblings, Ray "Ed" French and his fiancée, Rose, Robert French and his wife, Diane, all of Kittanning, and Carol E. French of Hanover; and numerous nieces and nephews, also survive.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Andrew, who died in 1992; an infant grandchild, who died in 2004; and a grandson, Jesse David Rottman, who died in 2005.

<B>CRISSMAN </B>— Friends of Gloria Jean Crissman, who died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2007, will be received form 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home</B>, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning.Visitation also will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the Brush Valley Brethren Church. Services will follow at 11 a.m. Friday at the church with the Rev. Vincent Edwin officiating. Her brother, Pastor Robert French, will assist.Burial will be at the Brush Valley Brethren Church Cemetery.Memorial donations may be made to the Brush Valley W.M.S.
