8:07 a.m. Friday — Charles Hoffman, 27, of Butler was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a small amount of marijuana after police assisted the state parole board by arresting Hoffman in his apartment at 109 Hansen Avenue.The Butler County Sheriff's office had a warrant for Hoffman for theft of leased property.Police reported finding 19 stamp bags of heroin marked "smack," glass pipes, razor blades and a hypodermic needle among other drug-related items in the apartment.Hoffman was jailed in Butler County Prison in lieu of $1,000 bond.Another man in the apartment, Stephen Selfridge, 29, of Butler also was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.Police report finding another hypodermic needle, two razor blades and a stamp bag marked "smack" in Selfridge's pants pockets. Selfridge, who also had an outstanding warrant, was jailed in the county prison.2:05 p.m. Wednesday — A vehicle driven by Heather Leeson, 33, of Cabot and a vehicle driven by Sean Hess, 19, of Butler collided at the intersection of Brady and Monroe streets. Leeson was taken by Butler Ambulance to Butler Memorial Hospital for treatment of a minor head injury. Hess, who was not injured, was cited for not having a valid inspection sticker.10:10 a.m. Wednesday — Someone driving a school bus struck a parked car owned by Irene Jones of Petrolia on East Cunningham Street. After being contacted by police, bus companies agreed to inspect buses on duty in the area during that time.7:29 a.m. Wednesday — A vehicle driven by Connie Shick, 59, of Kittanning and a car driven by Alisha Stephenson, 24, of Butler collided on West Cunningham Street. No one was injured. Shick was cited for fleeing the scene and careless driving.
11:23 p.m. Thursday — A car driven by Angela Link, 19, of Butler hit a utility pole off Benbrook Road in Center Township. She was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.7:05 a.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Mindy Campbell, 23, of Stoneboro hit an embankment several times off Interstate 79 in Worth Township. She was wearing a seat belt and received minor injuries.2:35 p.m. Tuesday — A van driven by Timothy Mick, 45, of Charlotte, N.C., struck a utility pole off Sunset Drive in Center Township. Mick received minor injuries.
Friday — Kimberly Goudy of Farrell, Pa., was charged with forgery, theft by deception, bad checks and identity theft for allegedly paying three bad checks to County Market Stores in Pine Township between July 27 and Aug. 2.State Police, Kittanning6:45 p.m. Friday — Cynthia Carson, 47, of Erie was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence following a traffic stop on Route 422 in West Franklin Township.
