Students in grades two, three and four at McQuistion Elementary School in the Butler School District were asked by the Butler Eagle to write short essays. Some students wrote about what love means and others wrote about what Valentine's Day means. Here are some of their responses:

This is what Valentine's Day means to me. I like Valentine's Day because it is the time to be nice, and caring. Ialso like Valentine's Day because you can receive flowers and candy. It means that because on Valentime's Day everyone wears hearts and gives cards to each other. The second thing that Valentime's Day means is love. On Valentime's day, sometimes peopel fall in love because it is so romantic. I also means love because every Valentime's Day someone falls in love. Another is on Valentime's Day everyone wears pink. Pink is my favorite color and it looks very pretty. One thing is to give valentines to each other with candy and sweets. Another things that Valentine's Day meens to me is spending time with your family and friends. Valentine's Day also reminds people about red and pink harts. People are also in the spirit for crafting and making valentines boxes. Those are the things that Valentine's Day meens to me.<B>Rob Kunst</B>What Valentine's Day means to me is we get days off school and we get to spend with our family and pets. Second, Iget to make a Valentine's box. We even bring them to school and get candy. Third, because I get to spend time with my family. We usually go out to eat or stay at home and relax.
