Slippery Rock snaps 7-game losing streak with 76-62 win Saturday

Jamar Scales scored 28 points and Glenn Reepmeyer added 21 points and 19 rebounds Saturday afternoon as the Slippery Rock University men's basketball team won at Lock Haven, 76-62.

The victory snapped a seven-game losing streak for The Rock (5-17, 2-5).

Reepmeyer pulled within six points of 1,000 for his career. He has 709 career rebounds as well. Reepmeyer did not play basketball last season as he concentrated on water polo.

Kenny Smith scored 10 points for SRU while Erroll Robinson added seven assists.

The victory pulled The Rock within a game of fourth place in the PSAC West. Lock Haven slipped to 9-12, 3-4.

Lock Haven 64, SRU55 (women) — The Rock (8-13, 2-5) suffered its fourth straight loss despite getting 19 points from Amanda Nero.Dana Stewart added 10 points for SRUand Nijha McNeely grabbed nine rebounds.The Rock held a one-point lead late in the game before Lock Haven (10-11, 3-4) went on a 14-4 run in the final three minutes.SRU hosts a men's and women's doubleheader Wednesday against Edinboro at Morrow Field House. First game is at 6 p.m.

Butler County Community College 86, Pitt-Titusville 76 — Kevin Scott scored 21 points and Blake Anderson added 18 as the Pioneers (10-10, 4-6) reached the .500 mark.BC3 is awaiting word on its status in the upcoming Western Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference playoffs.
