12:53 a.m. Sunday — Shayne McCann, 23, of Emlenton was arrested for driving under the influence on Main Street. McCann was also cited for driving with a burned out taillight, driving too fast for conditions and an open container violation.Tuesday — Police charged Valorie Law, 27, of Butler for driving under the influence of a controlled substance, a month after officers found her slumped behind the wheel of her car at an East Jefferson Township convenience store.The car's engine was still running about 4:13 a.m. Jan. 7 when officers arrived at the Sunoco/A-Plus parking lot and found Law passed out.A clerk told police the defendant had earlier been in the store and that a syringe had fallen from Law's coat pocket.Toxicology results released Tuesday determined the presence of cocaine, methadone and other drugs in the defendant's blood system.In addition to DUI, she is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
2:15 a.m. Sunday — Michael Seger, 37, of Sarver was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence at Routes 228 and 356 in Buffalo Township.10:48 p.m. Saturday — Andrew Buzas, 53, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of DUI after his sport utility vehicle struck a ditch and rolled onto its side on Route 356 near Headland Road in Summit Township. Buzas, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries.7:37 p.m. Saturday — A SUV driven by Leonard Kriley, 81, of Butler skidded on snow-covered Route 68 and struck another SUVin the Lick Hill area of Summit Township. Kriley and the other driver, Harry Bauer, 84, of Butler, were treated for minor injuries at Butler Memorial Hospital. Police said both men were wearing seat belts.6:38 p.m. Saturday — A pickup truck driven by John Melozzi, 58, of New Castle skidded on snow-covered Route 422 at Route 119 in Muddy Creek Township and struck a concrete barrier.6:31 p.m. Saturday — A car driven by Cynthia Goodale, 57, of Butler skidded on snow-covered East Butler Road and struck a fence at the entrance of MHFInc. in Summit Township.8:05 a.m. Saturday — A pickup truck driven by Peter Rupp, 29, of Pittsburgh hit a patch of ice and flipped onto its roof at Saxonburg Boulevard and Deer Creek Road in Clinton Township. The pickup spun around on its roof and hit a car parked at the Deer Creek Road home of Glenn Sefton.Saturday — A vehicle driven by Barbara Thrower, 55, of Saxonburg hit an ice patch on Saxonburg Boulevard, flipped onto its roof and hit a gas meter in Clinton Township.2:25 a.m. Saturday — James Evans, 43, of Hilliards was arrested for suspicion of DUI at Routes 38 and 68 in Summit Township.Saturday — Nearly $4,000 in power tools were stolen between 10 p.m. Friday and 3:30 p.m. Saturday from a garage in a burglary at the Leisie Road home of Geoffrey Mincer in Forward Township. Among the items taken were a chain saw and two chops saws.6 a.m. Friday — A car driven by Michelle Huttinger, 20, of Zelienople struck a utility pole along Watters Station Road in Forward Township.Friday — Marguerite Edmunds, 47, of Sarver told police that someone between 6 and 7 p.m. stole her diamond ring from the Clearview Mall in Center Township. No other information about the theft was available this morning.
5:10 a.m. Friday — A car driven by Kyle Hurley, 21, of Berea, Ohio, struck a guardrail and then hit the side of a tractor-tractor on Interstate 80 in Wolf Creek Township, Mercer County. Hurley and a passenger in the car, James Hurley, 23, of Mansfield, Tioga County, suffered minor injuries.Ricardo Roman, 37, of Newark, N.J., was driving the rig.
