Donald C. Lees

Donald C. Lees, 88, of Karns City, formerly of Forest Hills, died Friday.

An Army Veteran, he served in the Pacific Theater during World War II and was a 1948 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh.

He was a retired manager from Westinghouse and worked at various other locations. During his retirement, he became a glass craftsman, an avid golfer and enjoyed the outdoors and his land in Karns City. His special passion was nurturing and caring for his dogwood trees.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ruth E. (Shannon) Lees; three daughters, Helen Kravetz and her husband, Dan, of Level Green, Westmoreland County, Jane Lambert and her husband, Gary, of Colorado, and Ruth Gould and her husband, Jim, of Virginia; a son, Robert F. Lees and his wife, Janet, of Ohio; and 17 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl Lees and James Byron Lees; and four sisters, Fleming Manseau, Jane Heim, Margaret Shires, and Catherine Trabold.

<B>LEES </B>— Friends of Donald C. Lees, who died Friday, Dec. 22, 2006, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday at the <B>Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home, </B>Inc., 700 Linden Ave., East Pittsburgh. A funeral service will be held at noon Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow at Lakewood Cemetery.Memorial donations can be made to the Salvation Army, 424 Third Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15219.
