Newly elected officers of the

Butler Notables barbershop chorus recently completed officer training in Columbus, Ohio.Officers include

John Grau, president;

Robert Hawn, vice president of public relations and marketing;

Ed Leech, vice president of music and performance;

Robert Godot, vice president of chapter development;

Robert Boice, chapter secretary and treasurer; and

Jeff Picerno, board member at large.The chorus is now making plans for its annual Singing Valentines program and U Can Sing 2 events.———

<B>The International Order of the Alhambra</B>, Jaen Caravan 131, has named its 2007 officers.The office of grand commander will be occupied by <B>Tim Cammisa</B>.Other officers include <B>James Miller</B>, vice grand commander; <B>Wayne Strobel</B>, grand scribe; <B>Robert Reimer</B>, scribe of the exchequer; <B>Jack Burke</B>, grand chamberlain; <B>Richard Rodgers</B>, captain of the bodyguard; <B>John Regan</B>, grand advocate; and the <B>Rev. <B>The Slippery Rock Area Women's Club</B> inducted five of seven new members at their annual Holiday Banquet held Dec. 12.During the banquet, members brought wrapped purses filled with necessity items for donation to the Butler County Women's Shelter.Newly inducted members include Michelle Plinta, Sue Mraz, Terri Vetere, Karen Kriley, Peggy Ozmun, Marion Mackey and Mary French.The club's next meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Monday in the banquet room of NexTier Bank in Slippery Rock. Participants in the eight annual <B>Treesdale Turkey Trot 5K Run and 1 Mile Fun Walk </B>raised more than $9,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Pittsburgh. The Nov. 27 race ran through the Treesdale community and golf course. More than 75 business were T-shirt sponsors. A pancake breakfast followed and Jack Kimbell, Treesdale general manager, presented awards to winners in 10 age categories.———

Winners of the <B>Butler Duplicate Bridge Club </B>game held Jan. 11 were <B>Don Toy </B>and <B>Clem Rosenberger</B>. Tied for second place were the teams of <B>Terry Fraas </B>and <B>Art Aronson </B>and <B>Polly Black </B>and <B>Alan Martin</B>.
