It wasn't a win, but Butler coach Scott Stoner was encouraged by his team's performance.Following a 62-6 loss to North Allegheny on Wednesday, the Butler varsity wrestling team was back in action at Hampton Friday night, dropping a 34-23 decision to the Talbots."The kids wrestled much better tonight than they did against NA," said Stoner. That improvement began with the match's first bout at 152 pounds.Butler's Josh Pascazi dominated Hampton's Steve Van Atta in a 13-1 major decision.Lee Will followed with a 3-2 victory over Dave Gentile."That was a good start for us," said Stoner. "Lee is 148 pounds and he's wrestling at 160 right now."And Mark Moses picked up a big win at heavyweight for us. A lot of our kids got some confidence back, and that was important."Butler (5-7) will host Fox Chapel on Wednesday.Hampton 34, Butler 23103 — Dom DeRosa (H) pinned Justin Victor, :57; 112 — John Harrington (H) dec.
