Ward Donaldson
Ward A. Donaldson, 79, of Slippery Rock, formerly of Boyers, died at 8:10 a.m. Sunday at his home following an illness with cancer.
Born March 26, 1927, he was the son of the late Elliott L. and Anna M. Christy Donaldson.
He married E. Naomi Jordan on July 11, 1949, and she survives.
Mr. Donaldson retired from Cooper Energies after 34 years. He was a core marker at Cooper Energies.
Mr. Donaldson was a World War II veteran who served in the Army in Germany.
Mr. Donaldson enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and taking care of his yard. Mr. Donaldson had worked for the Clintonville Methodist Cemetery in maintaining the grounds for more than six years. He also enjoyed raising various animals while he lived in Boyers.
He is survived by two daughters, Deborah Smith of Slippery Rock and Lori Buckley of St. Petersburg, Fla., and three sons, Bruce Donaldson of St. Petersburg, Fla., the Rev. Gary Donaldson and his wife, Gail, of Russell and Barry Donaldson of Largo, Fla. Also surviving are a brother, Richard K. Donaldson of Pleasant Prairie, Wis., four sisters, Mrs. Charles (Darlene) Hadley of Albuquerque, N.M., Mrs. Merle (Jane) Hutchison of Edinboro, Mrs. Richard (Audrey) Fleeger of Butler, and Mrs. Shirley Hammond of Butler.
He was preceded in death by a son, Eric Scott Donaldson who died Sept. 6, and two brothers, Jay C. Donaldson and D. Leroy Donaldson.
<B>DONALDSON</B> — The family will receive friends of Ward A. Donaldson, who died Sunday, Nov. 26, 2006, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Larry E. McKinley Funeral Home</B>, 109 Emlenton St., Clintonville.Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Boyers United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kathy Soltis officiating.Burial will be at the Old Annadale Cemetery, Butler County.The family suggest memorial contributions be sent to the Boyers United Methodist Church, P.O.
