1:22 a.m. today — A car sheared off a utility pole in a one-vehicle crash on Pillow Street. The driver, whose identity was not known this morning, was injured. The crash is under investigation and a report was not immediately available.Wednesday — Police charged David Davenport III, 35, of Butler with forging a Zeigler Avenue woman's signature on two checks, totaling $600, and getting two other women on Dec. 4 to cash the checks at banks in Butler and Center Township. Davenport is charged with forgery.

5:20 p.m. Tuesday — Mark Musser, 28, of Clay Township and Shawn Struble, 47, no known address, were arrested for allegedly trying to shoplift a 42-inch television at the Wal-Mart store at Butler Commons.Police said Musser is also accused of placing a DVD player on display into another box with a less expensive price tag.Musser and Struble were arraigned on charges of retail theft and conspiracy, and placed in the Butler County Prison on $3,000 bond each.

2:05 a.m. Wednesday — Mark Miller, 23, of Petrolia was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on East Slippery Rock Road in Chicora.7:41 p.m. Tuesday — Matt Yanick, 31, of East Butler was arrested for suspicion of DUI after his car crashed on the Route 422 off-ramp at Route 68 in Summit Township. Yanick, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries.7:33 p.m. Tuesday — A car driven by William Miller, 21, of Parker crashed into a rock culvert on Branchton Road about a mile west of Route 38 in Washington Township. Police said Miller, who walked away from the wreckage, faces numerous traffic charges.6:09 p.m. Tuesday — Nathan Hinderliter, 24, of Chicora was arrested for suspicion of DUI after his pickup truck struck two utility poles on Cornetti Road in Clearfield Township.5:05 p.m. Tuesday — Cars driven by Rita Hall, 36, of New Castle and Nicole Pollack, 23, no address given, collided at Route 422 and 8013 in Muddy Creek Township. Both drivers, wearing seat belts, suffered minor injuries.7:53 a.m. Tuesday — Kevin Cygan, 27, of Center Township faces charges of possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop ar Route 8 and Mahood Road in Center Township.Tuesday — An unknown burglar between 3 p.m. Monday and 8 a.m. Tuesday broke into the Family Traditions restaurant in Harrisville and stole a safe containing $200, keys and a gold diamond ringTuesday — Several undisclosed items were taken between 2 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. Tuesday in a burglary at the Centerville Pike home of Michael Weidner in Slippery Rock Township.5:30 p.m. Monday — A car driven by Larry Wofford Jr., 25, of Edinburg, Lawrence County, struck the rear of a tan or light-colored Buick sedan on Route 422 near the Interstate 79 ramp in Muddy Creek Township.Police said the unknown driver of the Buick, described as a white man, drove off before Wofford was able to exchange information with him.Monday — Seventeen boxes of kitchen cabinets were taken between Saturday and Monday from a log home under construction on Miller Road near Westminster and Lardintown roads in Clinton Township. John DeRunk of West Sunbury owns the stolen property.Sunday — About $500 was taken between 7 and 10:15 a.m. in a burglary at the Sack Lane home of Lucy McCarl in Marion Township.2:25 a.m. Saturday — Mark Musser, no age given, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of DUI at Duffy and New Castle roads in Butler Township.
