Lorant 65th anniversary

Eleanor and Raymond Lorant Jr.

Raymond Jr. and Eleanor Lorant of Concordia Lutheran Ministries' Oertel Care Center, Jefferson Township, formerly of Allegheny Township and West Virginia, celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary at a reception with family and friends on Nov. 27.

The former Eleanor Spiering married Lorant Nov. 26, 1941, at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Parish in New Kensington.

They have two sons, Raymond Arthur Lorant III of Apollo and Donald Albert Lorant of Allegheny Township. Another son, Frederick Lorant, is deceased.

They also have four grandchildren and are expecting their first great-grandchild in January.

Lorant worked as a glass cutter at American Window Glass in Arnold for 30 years before working in the same profession in West Virginia. He retired in 1978.

Mrs. Lorant worked as a cook at the Elks Club snack bar in Clarksburg.

The couple belongs to St. Gertrude Roman Catholic Church in Vandergrift.
