Kathryn R. "Ruth" George, 86, of Zelienople died Tuesday at Worthington at Adams in Adams Township.

She was born June 5, 1920, in New Brighton, the daughter of Robert and Gladys Colbert Marvin.

Mrs. George was a member of the Harmony-Zelienople United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday school and belonged to the Sunday School Together Class. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking and spending time with family.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas W. George, Sr., whom she married Feb. 17, 1940; a daughter, Carol Stauffer and her husband, Stephen, of Zelienople; a son, Thomas W. George, Jr., and his wife, Linda, of Fombell; four grandchildren, Timothy Schoeffel and his wife, Amy, of Evans City, Todd Schoeffel and his wife, Jackie, of Harmony, Jeffrey George of Fombell and Julianne Novack and her husband, Bernard, of Slippery Rock; three great-granddaughters, Emily Schoeffel, Kaitlin Novak and Taylor Schoeffel.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, John "Jack" Marvin and Robert "Bob" Marvin, and a sister, Betty Healy.

<B>GEORGE — </B>Friends of Kathryn R. "Ruth" George, who died Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2006, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the<B> BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME,</B> 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Harmony-Zelienople United Methodist Church, 123 N. Pittsburgh St., Zelienople, with the Rev. John K. Jefferis and the Rev. Gail McQueen, church pastors, officiating.
