Ray V. Cranmer
Ray Vance Cranmer, 72, of Muhlenberg Township, Berks County, died at 3:35 p.m. Monday at the Reading Hospital and Medical Center, where he had been a patient since Oct. 19.
Born Aug. 3, 1934, in Butler, he was a son of Clarence Everett and Stella Elizabeth Swope Cranmer.
He was a 1952 graduate of Butler High School and a 1958 graduate of the Milwaukee School of Engineering.
Mr. Cranmer retired in 1996 as a senior technical aide at Bell Labs, Muhlenberg Township, after 37 years.
He was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, Reading. He also was a member of the Muhlenberg Lions Club, the Telephone Pioneers and the Mid-Atlantic Basenji Club.
He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia Louise Arra Cranmer, whom he married Oct. 8, 1960; a son, Donald C. Cranmer of Muhlenberg Township; and two daughters, Kim C. Cranmer Marsh and her husband, Michael, of Spring Township, Berks County, and LeeBeth Cranmer of Muhlenberg Township.
Also surviving are two sisters, Kathryn Cranmer Minehart of Butler and Donna Cranmer Holbein and her husband, William, of West Sunbury; and a sister-in-law; Lois Nebel Cranmer of West Sunbury; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Dale Cranmer of West Sunbury, and a brother-in-law, James Minehart of Butler.
