Andrew A. Hancheck, 84, of 535 Crisswell Road died Tuesday at his home.

Born May 29, 1922, in Messmore, Fayette County, he was a son of Paulus and Anna Gulik Hancak.

He had worked at Armco-Butler Works as a roller in the wheel works department for 22 years and then was in the labor force for eight years before he retired in 1973.

Mr. Hancheck was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church.

He was an avid hunter and enjoyed woodworking and helping people.

He served in the Navy during World War II and was a former member of the American Legion Post 778 in Lyndora.

Surviving are his wife, Ruth C. Birckbichler Hancheck, whom he married Nov. 10, 1983; two sons, Andrew A. "Skip" Hancheck Jr. of Johnstown and Ronald L. Hancheck of Butler; two daughters, Patricia K. Norling and Mary Ann Hancheck, both of Butler; two stepsons, Larry A. Vicario and Roy D. Burns, both of Butler; a stepdaughter, Mary L. Eiler of Butler; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

He also is survived by two sisters, Margaret Furka of Lyndora and Helen Van Dyke of Marshfield, Wis., and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters.

<B>Hancheck </B>— Friends of Andrew A. Hancheck, who died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2006, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at <B>the Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Butler County Memorial Park cemetery, Butler Township.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Butler Blind Association, 322 N.
