The Butler Rotary Club recently hosted the representatives of nine local charities and distributed checks of various amounts in recognition of their community service.

Donations were presented to the Butler County Against Heroin StandTall program, the Butler YWCA, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Glade Run Lutheran Services, Meals on Wheels, the Salvation Army, the United Way of Butler County, the Paul Laurence Dunbar Community Center and the Associated Artists of Butler County.

The funding for the awards came from a successful Rotary golf outing and the recent Rotary golf ball drop.

In the past five years the club has raised more than $200,000 for local and international charities.
