The First Church of Christ Scientist is offering CDs of music by Andrew James and Cherie Brennan, music depicting the life of Jesus by Julia Wade and other Christian recordings.

Literature for children and copies of the Essential Evangelical Parallel Bible and the Large Print King James Version Bible are also available.

The church is located on West PennStreet.

Book signing set at Clearview Mall

Pat Campbell-Fells, author of "Blue Ribbon Girls" will sign copies of her book from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at Borders at Clearview Mall.

She plans to have the sequel, "Winning Gold," out by summer. Call 412-741-6782.

BUTLER TWP — St. John's Reformed Church, Route 68 and Benbrook Road, will host a cookie sale at 9 a.m. Saturday. Cookies will be $12 for three dozen or $18 for five dozen.

BRUIN — The Bruin Volunteer Fire Department announced that Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive in Bruin Sunday.Santa will ride through town on his sleigh at 6 p.m. and greet visitors at the Bruin Fire Hall.Participants can take cameras for photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Refreshments will be provided.

Westminster Presbyterian Church in America, 420 N. Main St., will host a Home for the Holidays event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.The event is sponsored by Women In the Church (WIC) and will include a lunch, craft and baked goods sale, and gift baskets drawings.Admission is $2 and includes 5 tickets for basket drawings. Proceeds benefit the church's kitchen project.

BRADY TWP — Slippery Rock University's Old Stone House, routes 8 and 173, will be the site for A Civil War Christmas from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.The program will feature traditional music and a reenactment of life for families during the Civil War.

RIMERSBURG — A Christmas Concert, performed by the Union School District's elementary band and choir, will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Union High School, off Route 68.An Old Fashioned Christmas Concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 18 at the High School. The concert will feature the junior and senior high school bands and choirs.Admission to both events is free.Donations of non-perishable food will be collected for area food banks.

FINDLEY TWP, Mercer County — Findley Township will host a Christmas party Saturday at the Mercer East End Fire Hall.The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a Christmas dinner. Participants should take their own table settings and two food items to share.Following dinner, Christmas caroling and children's activities will be held. New gifts will also be collected for the Christmas Family Referral Program of the Children's Aid Society.
