Harold A. Koegler
Harold A. Koegler, 87, of Connoquenessing Township died early Saturday morning at the Lowrie House at Stirling Village, Butler Township.
Born March 1, 1919, in Connoquenessing Township, he was the son of Edwin and Macy Campbell Koegler.
He served in the Army from 1942 to 1945 and retired in 1982 from Armco-Butler Works after 30 years.
Mr. Koegler was a member of the Mount Chestnut Presbyterian Church.
He enjoyed sitting at his window and watching his grandchildren playing football and watching the sheep in the pasture. He enjoyed Brownie the dog, cheating at dominoes, eating King Cone's french-vanilla ice cream, zinging you with his one-liners and visits and dinners with Jerry and Phyllis.
He also enjoyed and greatly appreciated the love, warmth and comfort from his friends and family at the Lowrie House.
Surviving are a son, and his wife, Marvin Alan and Margaret Koegler of Savoonga, Alaska; a daughter and her husband, Glenda and Bob Peindl of Butler; four stepdaughters, Linda Dubose of Carol Stream, Ill., Joyce Thomas of Augusta, Ga., Sally Pinkle of Portersville and Ellen Leslie of Connoquenessing; and two stepsons, Lloyd Leslie and David Leslie both of Connoquenessing.
He also is survived by 24 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Alberta Mae Sutton Koegler, who died in 1992; and his second wife, M. Irene Leslie Koegler, who died March 18, 2006. He also was preceded in death by a number of siblings.
