Butler residents Lori Smith and Ian Thomas were united in marriage 10:30 a.m. Aug. 5 in an outdoor ceremony at Maple Hill Farm in Butler. Judge S. Michael Yeager officiated. A reception followed at the Betsy's Barn in Portersville.
The bride is the daughter of Gary and Phyllis Smith of Butler. Parents of the bridegroom are John and Susan Thomas of Butler.
The matron of honor was Lesley Downing of Mount Wolf.
Performing the duties of best man was Adam Holt of Pottstown.
The bride is a 1994 graduate of Butler High School and a 2000 graduate of Slippery Rock University. She works for Freedom Wireless in Butler.
The bridegroom graduated in 1995 from Butler High School, in 1999 from Slippery Rock University and in 2006 from Texas Tech University. He works at the Braddock Carnegie Library in Braddock and at the Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh.
Following a honeymoon trip to Nags Head, N.C., the couple is making their home in Butler.
