4 face more charges in thefts
SLIPPERY ROCK — With five new charges added to their cases, four men accused of collectively stealing more than $23,000 worth of property waived their cases to Butler County Court.
Already facing 10 counts each of burglary, theft by unlawful taking or disposition and receiving stolen property, Charles Burgess, 32; Gilbert Dawson, 24; and Floyd Pisor, 36, all of Richard Avenue, Slippery Rock; and Joshua Pisor, 19, of North Washington also will face five counts of criminal conspiracy.
State police added the new charges to the men's records preceding their hearing Tuesday before District Judge Clifford Woessner. Both the burglary and the conspiracy charges are felonies by law because of the dollar amount of property reportedly stolen.
State police believe the defendants are responsible for as many as 10 burglaries in Slippery Rock and Marion townships. The four men are accused of stealing tools, construction equipment, gasoline and two ATVs from the various locations.
The four remain in Butler County Prison. Bond last week was set at $75,000 for each suspect. Josh Pisor's bond has been lowered to $1,000.
The other defendants, whose bonds were lowered to $2,500, are being detained because of other warrants and unpaid fines.
Dawson is being held because of a pending case in Clarion County. Court records showed Burgess has a previous bench warrant for an arrest and a number of unpaid court fines. Floyd Pisor also is being held because of pending charges in another county.
A 17-year-old male of Boyers was also arrested in connection with the incident, but no information on him was available because of juvenile privacy laws.
