Butler Church of the NazareneMusic for the 10:45 a.m. Sunday service at Butler Church of the Nazarene, 4410 Oakdale Road and Route 68, will be provided by the Pittsburgh District Church of the Nazarene's IMPACT Team, directed by Lori Bradford of Bradford. The team is composed of teenagers from the Churches of the Nazarene in Western PA. The group will present a worship concert of instrumental and vocal music. An offering will be accepted.The Children's and Adult Timbrel Team will meet at 12:30 p.m. Sunday for lunch and practice at the church. Participants should take a sack lunch.A Sunday School Ministries Appreciation Dinner will be held from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday for all Sunday school teachers, assistants and board members. Al and Millie Martsolf will host the event.The adult Christmas dinner and white elephant auction will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the church. Christ Community U.M.The first Sunday in the Advent season will be celebrated with the Sacrament of Holy Communion during weekend worship services at Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road, Butler Township.The second semester of adult Sunday school classes begins at 9:45 a.m. Sunday. An "I Live BIG" Advent study for adults, based on African American Spirituals, will be led by the Rev. Lisa Grant and Alan Alston. The study will conclude Dec. 24.Offerings for Mission Share contributions will be received throughout December.Reservations are being accepted for the adult Christmas party to be held at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 10. Cost is $7.50 per person for the catered dinner. A white elephant gift exchange will follow. The Youth Group will provide child care services. Sign-up sheets are posted in the narthex.Come and Get It will celebrate Hat Night from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Christ's OutreachThe Tom Walker Family and Patty Helms will present music for the Sunday service at Christ's Outreach Church, 120 Walker Ave. In anticipation of Christmas, the first Advent Candle will be lit.The Visiting Nurses Association will offer flu shots following the Saturday night and Sunday morning services in Room 2. Cost is $25 or free to those with Medicare and Security Blue members cards.Following a successful invitational competition, bringing home a gold, silver and two bronze awards, the Children's Bible Quizzers will begin preparing for their next meet Sunday. The Quizzers meet from 6 to 7 p.m. Sundays. Children's Choir follows from 7 to 8.Fellowship Dinners, Caravan Kids Club, Youth Group, Adult Bible Study and Hot Potato Issues will resume their Wednesday night schedules throughout the month of December.Baking goods, including flour, sugar, oatmeal and chocolate chips, will be accepted for the food bank during December.

Covenant PresbyAn Advent Bible study course on Handel's Messiah will be held at 1 p.m. Dec. 6, 13, and 20 at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St. The Rev. James Swanson of Covenant and the Rev. Merry Meloy of Saint Andrews Presbyterian Church will lead the class.Linda Day, editor of Catholic Biblical Quarterly, will lead the Seekers Class at 9:45 a.m. Sunday in the Assembly Room.An Advent/Christmas vocal concert will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in the sanctuary. Summit PresbyMembers of Summit Presbyterian Church, 181 Caldwell Drive, are invited to assist in decorating the sanctuary for Christmas at 9 a.m. Saturday.Communion will be served at the 8:45 and 11 a.m. Sunday services. Trinity PresbyTrinity Presbyterian Church, 107 Staley Ave., Butler Township, will observe the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper Sunday.The Ruth Circle will hold its Christmas gathering Monday. Members should meet at 11:30 a.m. at the Dynasty International Buffet at Clearview Mall.
