Utz, Varner
Debi Utz of Mars and Tom Varner of Clarion were united in marriage at 1:30 p.m. Sept. 9 at the First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown. The Revs. Tim Diggins and Donn Ed officiated. A reception followed at the home of the bride's parents in Mars.
The bride is the daughter of Howard and Gloria Utz of Mars. Parents of the bridegroom are Roger and Christine Varner of Clarion.
The matron of honor was Dena Fantini of Valencia and the maid of honor was Jennifer Roche of Cranberry Township. Bridesmaids included Julie Utz of Mars, Leah Felmlee of Corsica, Pa.; Laura Ross of Punxsutawney, Jen Hefferman of Franklin, Kayla Baylor of Curlsville and Chrissy Varner of Sligo. Alexandra Bailey of Mars served as a junior bridesmaid. Flower girls were Morgan Kahle of Curlsville and Sienna Wild-Utz and Maddison Boyd, both of Valencia.
Performing the duties of best man was Jon Weaver of Knox. Ushers included Chris Palmer and Jamie Palmer, both of Carnegie; Donovan Karki of New Castle; Brian Mobley of Dayton, Ohio; Nick Bonnett of Richmond, Va.; and Jim Kanowik of Crafton. The ring bearer was Mitchell Knepp of Clarion.
The bride is a 1999 graduate of Mars High School and a 2004 graduate of Clarion University. She works as a fourth-grade teacher at Penn Christian Academy in Penn Township.
The bridegroom graduated in 1994 from Clarion High School and in 1999 from Liberty University of Virginia. He works for S&SProcessing in West Pittsburgh.
Following a honeymoon trip to Hidden Valley Resorts, the couple is making their home in Butler.
