Kenneth W. "Moe"McCandless
Kenneth Werner "Moe"McCandless, 76, of Westview Drive died Friday at his home.
Born Nov. 17, 1929, in Mars, he was the son of Clarence and Lydia McCandless.
He was a switchman at Sprint United Telephone and retired in 1987 after 30 years.
He was a member of the Army and served as a sergeant in Germany. He was a member of VFW Post 249 and the Slovak Golf League.
He enjoyed baseball, including the Butler County Eagle League, and he played for Mars and Callery teams from 1952 to 1961.
He was a Lutheran.
Surviving are his wife, Veronica C. McCandless, whom he married Jan. 9, 1953; a son, Ronald (Trudy) McCandless of Louden, Tenn.; a daughter, Mrs. John (Patricia) Chuba of Butler; a sister, Dorothy Fox of Butler; two granddaughters, Kendra and Morgan; two step-grandchildren, Butch and Holly; and three step great grandchildren, Ted, William and Jacob.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
