Roger Alan Lutz

Roger Alan Lutz, 54, of Zelienople died at his home Monday after a battle with cancer.

Born Feb. 15, 1952, in Zelienople, he was the son of the late Richard M. and Dorothy E. Lutz.

Mr. Lutz was a press operator for Lava Crucible Refractories (Vesuvius USA) for more than 25 years, until the plant closed.

He served in the Marine Corps and was a member of the American Legion.

Mr. Lutz enjoyed cooking, fishing and video games.

He is survived by is wife of 31 years, Catherine Songer Lutz; a son, Abraham Lutz and his wife, Becky, of Fombell; a daughter, Amy Mentel and her husband, Jason, of Wexford; three sisters, Leona Bergstrom of Harmony, Deborah O'Shea of Zelienople and Beverly Walter of Cranberry Township; and four brothers, David Lutz of Harmony, Bradley Lutz, of Evans City, Douglas Lutz of Zelienople and Richard Lutz of Portersville.

<B>LUTZ</B> — A memorial service for Roger Alan Lutz, who died Monday, Oct. 23, 2006, will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at Grace Church of HarmonyIn lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Butler VNA Hospice, 154 Hindman Road, Butler, PA 16001; or to VAPittsburgh Health Care System, University Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15240.
