Madeline A. Sawyer, 92, of Mars died Monday evening in Mars.

Born in Butler, May 27, 1914, she was the daughter of John and Mathilda Osche Boyle.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed playing cards.

Mrs. Sawyer was a member of St. Kilian Roman Catholic Church in Mars and the Mars V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Elaine Coss of Mars, with whom she made her home; a son, Paul P. Sawyer Sr. and his wife, Mary Ann, of Clearmont, Fla.; her grandchildren, Joyce Corvino, Derek Coss, Ann Hodak, David Coss and Todd, Sean and Scott Sawyer; and her great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Alexandra Corvino, Madilyn, Emma and Susanna Coss and Audra, Zoe and Aiden Sawyer, Elisabeth and Katherine Mary Sawyer.

She also is survived by a sister, Betty Fotta of Valencia; and a brother, Regis Boyle and his wife, Agnes, of Mars.

Her husband, Paul P. Sawyer Sr., whom she married June 8, 1940, died Oct. 14, 1989. She also was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Logan and Alverna Howell; and three brothers, John, Joseph and Lawrence Boyle.

<B>SAWYER </B>— Friends of Madeline A. Sawyer, who died Monday, Oct. 23, 2006, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the <B>McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home</B>, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Kilian Roman Catholic Church, Mars, with the Rev. Charles Bober officiating. Burial will be at the Mars Cemetery, Adams Township.
