In the late 1960s, youngsters from the kindergarten class at Calvary United Presbyterian Church in Butler prepared to show Butler County residents the true meaning of Thanksgiving by telling the Thanksgiving story. This photo, taken Nov. 19, 1968, shows three of the kindergarteners at the church who learned poems, songs and made pictures of the Pilgrims and American Indians. From left are Billy McCune, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard McCune; Vicki Shields, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. Edwin Shields; and June Holmes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Holmes. The church dissolved in Dec. 2004, but has since been bought by Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church and renamed Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church.
