Stephen Cygan, 78, of Lyndora died Wednesday at the Western Pennsylvania Burn Trauma Center in Pittsburgh.

Born July 2, 1928, in Butler, he was a son of Demetrius Metro and Tillie Sabron Cygan.

He was a 1948 graduate of Butler High School and was a veteran of the Army during the Korean Conflict.

Mr. Cygan worked for the Bessemer and Lake Erie Railroad for 35 years and retired in 1985.

He was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Lyndora.

He is survived by a brother, John "Dunny" Cygan of Butler. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

Seven brothers preceded him in death.

<B>CYGAN</B> — Friends of Stephen Cygan, who died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2006, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. William T. Diakiw officiating.Burial will follow at the Rose Hill Cemetery.Memorial donations may be made to the Western Pennsylvania Hospital Burn Trauma Center, 4800 Friendship Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15224.
