Erin Uhl, 21, of Karns City will compete as Butler's representative for the 2006 Miss Pennsylvania USApageant this weekend at the Hyatt Regency Pittsburgh International Airport.The daughter of Chip and Heather Uhl, she is a 2004 graduate of Moniteau High School and a current student at Butler County Community College.She plans to attend Slippery Rock University in the spring to pursue a degree in elementary education.———

Niki Hemphill of Prospect won the Team Penning World Championship title with Jr. Hick Wilson, a 2001 sorrel American quarter horse on Nov. 7 in Amarillo, Texas.The show will air at 1:30 p.m. Jan. 7 on NBC.———

The Associated Artists of Butler County recently received a donation of $500 from the Rotary Club of Butler.The funds will be used for the Kid's Classes program in 2007.———

Butler County Against Heroin, sponsor of the Stand Tall Program, recently received a donation of $5,120 from the Rotary Club of Butler.The program offers random drug tests to in which students participate by pledging to remain drug and alcohol free and submitting to a random drug tests.More than 350 students in the Butler Junior High School signed for the program in its first year.This gift will be used to cover the cost of testing, supplies and activities planned for participants.Donations to the program can be sent to Butler County Against Heroin, PO Box 662, Butler, PA 16003.———Winners at the
