Carson Palmer, Bengals, was 31-of-42 for 440 yards and three TDs in a losing cause.• Drew Brees, Saints, threw for 398 yards and a touchdown on 31-for-47 passing in a 38-31 loss at Pittsburgh.
Rushing• Willie Parker, Steelers, had 213 yards — 5 shy of the team record — on 22 carries with two TDs in Pittsburgh's 38-31 win over New Orleans.• Frank Gore, 49ers, set a franchise record with 148 yards rushing in the first half and scored on a 61-yard run before leaving with a concussion. He finished with a career-high 159 yards in San Francisco's 19-13 win at Detroit.• LaDainian Tomlinson, Chargers, ran for 104 yards and had a team-high six catches for 54 more yards, and tied a career high with four TDs in San Diego's 49-41 win at Cincinnati.• Anthony Thomas, Bills, starting in place of the injured Willis McGahee, carried 28 times for 109 yards as Buffalo lost to Indianapolis 17-16.• Tiki Barber, Giants, sprained a thumb but gained 141 yards on 19 carries in New York's 38-20 loss to Chicago.• Maurice Morris, Seahawks, finished with 124 yards on 21 carries in Seattle's 24-22 win over St. Louis.
Receiving• Chad Johnson, Bengals, caught 11 passes for a club-record 260 yards and two TDs in a 49-41 loss to San Diego.• Donald Driver, Packers, had a career-high 191 yards receiving in a 23-17 victory over the Vikings.• Donte' Stallworth, Eagles, had six catches for 139 yards and a TD in Philadelphia's 27-3 win over Washington.• Mark Clayton, Ravens, caught seven passes for 125 yards and a TD as Baltimore edged Tennessee 27-26.• Rookie Marques Colston, Saints, had 10 receptions for 169 yards in New Orleans' 38-31 loss at Pittsburgh.
Special Teams• Devin Hester, Bears, tied the NFL record for longest play by returning a missed field goal 108 yards in Chicago's 38-20 victory over the New York Giants.• Josh Brown, Seahawks, made a 38-yard field goal with 9 seconds left as Seattle rallied to beat St. Louis 22-20. It was Brown's fifth winning field goal since Oct. 2, 2005. Nate Burleson ran a punt back 90 yards for a TD in the fourth quarter.
