Josephine A. Malvarose, 92, formerly of Highfield Road, died Sunday at the Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown, Md. She lived with her daughter in Cheverly, Md., since 1979.

Born Dec. 2, 1913, in Erie, she was a daughter of John A. and Elena Cevro Pape.

She was a homemaker, a mother and grandmother.

Mrs. Malvarose was a former member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church in Butler and a member of the St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church in Cheverly. She also was a volunteer at St. Ambrose Parish and was a member of the Golden Circle Senior Club in Cheverly.

Surviving are three children and their spouses, Philip J. and Victoria Malvarose of Butler, Carol A. and Michael DeMayo of West Sunbury and Alice M. and Peter Pataro of Cheverly; two brothers and their wives, John and Vera Pape of Erie and Robert and Irma Pape of River Rouge, Mich.; and two sisters Anne Pape and Mrs. Claire Jones, both of Erie.

She also is survived by four grandchildren, Michael C. and Angela M. DeMayo, Peter J. Pataro and Philip Q. Malvarose; and two great-grandchildren, Delaney Malvarose and Cole Pataro.

Her husband, Quedo A. Malvarose, whom she married June 1, 1936, died Nov. 27, 1978. Two sisters also preceded her in death.

<B>MALVAROSE </B>— Friends of Josephine A. Malvarose, who died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2006, will be received from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St. Funeral services will follow at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. The Rev. James Dolan, pastor of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, will officiate.
