The Butler Lions Club recently honored member
George Bonnett for 39 years of perfect attendance.Bonnett was presented a pin during the recent Butler Lions Club awards night.In addition to Bonnett,
James Crowley,
William Hetrick and
Samuel Oesterling were honored for more than 30 years of perfect attendance each.The 30-year-old Monarch Award was presented to Lion
Robert Baron for his history of service.
Donald McCandless received the Lion of the Year Award.———
The Paul Laurence Dunbar Community Center recently received a donation of $1,080 from the
Rotary Club of Butler.The center plans to use the donation to purchase new chairs for the facility.———
Sara Bono, daughter of Randy and Tina Bono of Butler, will compete in the Miss Pennsylvania Teen USApageant, to be held Nov. 24 through 26 at the Hyatt Regency, Pittsburgh International Airport.A student at Butler High School, she is a member of the schools TV/broadcasting program and volunteers with the American Cancer Society's Daffodil Days program, the Muscular Dystrophy Association's Summer Camp and Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon. She also volunteers at Passavant Retirement Community.The winner of the pageant will go on to compete for the title of Miss Teen USA.———
The Butler Meals on Wheels program recently received a donation of $1,000 from the
Rotary Club of Butler.The donation will be used to purchase food supplies and kitchen equipment.———
The Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Company has announced the winners of its recent Halloween Parade.In Group A, first prize went to
Parker Bowser, second place to
Kendall Vettori and third place to
Guy Kane.
Alexis Thrower was named the winner of Group B. Second and third places went to
Julie Kasunic and
Megan Vettori, respectively.In Group C, first place went to
Olivia Ruk, second to
Tavin Petruzzi and third to
Nathan Poeppel.First place in Group D went to
Nicholas Kasunic. Second and third place went to
Michael Kasunic and
Katie Poeppel, respectively.In Group E, prizes went to
Carly and Sara Wehner for first place,
Hailey and Isaiah Myers for second place and
