Skelly

On Nov. 4, Col.

Jack Skelly of Harmony turned over the colors of the 475th Quartermaster Group of Farrell to incoming commander Col. Ken Demers.The Change of Command Ceremony was held at Veterans Square Park in Farrell and was attended by numerous Army Reserve units and soldiers.The 475th Army Reserve Unit specializes in petroleum and water support operations.During the three years that Skelly was in charge, he was deployed for one year with a team from his unit to manage all the petroleum for the CENTCOM operational area from Iraq to Afghanistan.The mission continues to be managed by another team of the 475th QM GP in place in Kuwait.The peacetime mission of the 475th QM GP is to command and control the three battalions and three direct reporting units throughout Pennsylvania and West Virginia.Skelly is continuing his Army Reserve career as the senior logistical officer for the 99th RRC in Coraopolis.
