Eugene Patrick Hays, 76, of Hays Lane died at 10:50 p.m. Thursday at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.

Born Sept. 11, 1930, in Chicora, he was the son of Joseph Hays and Mabel Rodgers.

Mr. Hays retired from Pullman Standard in 1981.

He was a member of the East Butler Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are a son, Randal L. Hays of Butler; three daughters, Regina R. Reges of Chicora, Terri L. Gumpp of Butler and Patricia A. Hays of Eau Claire; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He also is survived by three brothers, John Hays of Butler, Carl Hays of East Butler and Donald Hays of Chicora; and two sisters, Helen Hickey of Butler and Mary Hays of Chicora.

His wife, Mabel Hays, died June 5, 2006. Two brothers also preceded him in death.
