Albert F. Hilliard

Albert F. Hilliard, 84, of 160 Moraine Drive in Muddy Creek Township died at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday at Silver Oakes Nursing Home, New Castle.

Born May 4, 1922, in Butler, he was the son of William and Bertha Stevens Hilliard.

He had been a crane operator at Armco-ButlerWorks for more than 30 years.

Mr. Hilliard was a Protestant.

During World War II, he served in the Army and received a Purple Heart and an honorable discharge.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Michael (Mary Ellen) Halahurich of Butler; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers, Russell Hilliard of Butler, Robert Hilliard of Niles, Ohio, and Richard Hilliard of Saxonburg; a sister, Mrs. Dale (Shirley) Ealy of Connoquenessing; and a number of nieces and nephews.

His wife, Helen Hilliard, whom he married Feb. 21, 1947, died May 8, 2006.

He also was preceded in death by a daughter, three sisters and five brothers.

<B>HILLIARD </B>— Friends of Albert F. Hilliard, who died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2006, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. today at <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St. Funeral services will follow at 8 p.m. today at the funeral home with the Rev. Kenneth Hall, pastor of the North Main Street Church of God, officiating.
