Golden Knights fall to Saltsburg
Union's football season came to an end Thursday night with a 39-7 loss to Saltsburg at home.
The visiting Trojans (1-9) snapped a 16-game losing streak with a powerful running game that rolled up 457 yards. Saltsburg did not complete a pass in the game.
Tyler Beitel led the way for the winners with 181 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries. Glenn Carr added 15 carries for 137 yards and a touchdown with Nick Reese contributing 11 carries for 92 yards and a score.
The Golden Knights (2-8) trailed 27-0 before denting the scoreboard midway through the third quarter when Colby Davis got a touchdown on a 7-yard run.
Davis carried 32 times for a career-high 161 yards. It marked the second 100-yard rushing game of the season for Davis and the fourth of his career.
