Butler Church of the NazareneMusic for the 10:45 a.m. Sunday service at Butler Church of the Nazarene, 4410 Oakdale Road and Route 68, Butler Township, will be provided by the Rev. Christ Community U.M.Consecration weekend will be celebrated during weekend services at Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road, Butler Township. The Rev. Glen Kohlhepp, former district superintendent, will lead the worship services and members will be asked to make a personal, spiritual and financial commitment to the church.Dessert will be served in Oz Hall following the Saturday evening service. A continental breakfast will be held after the 8:30 a.m. Sunday service and a light lunch will follow the 11 a.m. service.Youth planning to attend the South Dakota mission trip in June must submit a $50 non-refundable deposit by Sunday. The congregation may purchase mission shares as Christmas gifts to assist the youth.Youth are reminded to bring a baby picture of themselves to youth group Sunday. A special bulletin board will be constructed.The second six weeks of "Come and Get It" begins Tuesday with Western Night. Children in third grade and younger will be involved in the Christmas drama, games and crafts. Youth through grade 12 grade may choose from drama or bells. Lisa Grant.Homemade soupwill be prepared and delivered to shut-ins Tuesday. Christ's OutreachDon Hixon and Patty Helms will provide music for the Sunday service at Christ's Outreach Church, 120 Walker Ave.The Visiting Nurses Association will host flu shot clinics from 8 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday in the gym. Cost is $25 per shot. Security Blue and Medicare, Part B insurance members will receive shots for free with identification cards. Community LifeCommunity Life Church, McQuistion Elementary School, will hold LifeGroups meetings for the 40 Days of Community campaign at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday at the Butler YWCA. A service will be held Nov. 12 to celebrate lessons learned during the campaign.Shoe boxes filled with toys and small essentials such as a toothbrush, toothpaste, and hairbrushes are being collected for Operation Christmas Child.
