Lauren Glew 6th at states, Marisa places 12th

They were fine showings to close out two great high school careers.

Mars senior golfer Lauren Glew shot a 77 on Tuesday, giving her a two-day total of 157 and a sixth-place finish at the PIAA championships at Heritage Hills Golf Resort in York.

Her twin sister, Marisa, carded an 83 to finish with a 162, good for 12th place.

Manheim Township's Sarah Bejgrowicz took the state crown with a 145.

Grove City's Cameron Peterson shot an 84 to finish with a 161 and in a tie for 32nd place in the boys final.

Hollidaysburg's Sean Brannan won the title with a 144.

Ryan Gercken, Wes Craig and Min Woo Chung each scored goals as Slippery Rock clinched the District 10, Region 1 title with a 3-1 win over Grove City.Craig Bicehouse (2) and Mike Ramirez added assists for the Rockets (14-2).Girls SoccerJence Rhoads had two goals and an assist to lead Slippery Rock to a 4-0 win over Grove City.Brittney Miller added a goal and assist, and Elissa McCune had the other goal for the Rockets (17-1), who close out the regular season today against Kennedy Catholic at SRU.

Amanda Gladd had 19 assists, three aces and two kills, and Kendra Hall had 12 aces and seven kills to power Moniteau to a 3-0 victory (25-19, 25-9, 25-11) over Venango Catholic.Megan Campbell added four kills and Kenzie Timblin had eight aces for the Warriors (4-13, 4-10), who end the season Thursday at Redbank Valley.Moniteau's junior varsity team won 2-1 (25-20, 14-25, 25-19).

Karns City's Travis Hendell placed first with a time of 18 minutes and 2 seconds, but it was Cranberry that walked away with the Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference title after a 26-33 win over the Gremlins (12-1, 9-1) and a 15-50 victory over Union.The loss to Cranberry snapped Karns City's dual meet winning streak at 32.Union's top runner was Cameron Adams with a time of 23:53 (19th place).On the girls side, Sarah Young led KC with an eighth-place finish and a time of 25:28.Shenoa Hendell finished 14th at 29:49.Union was paced by Kirstie Priester's 15-place time of 34:45. Cranberry's Jen Senko won the girls race with a finish of 21:30.
