The Butler Outdoor Club is asking for nominations for the BOC Outstanding Outdoor Contribution Award for 2006, honoring individuals or groups that make significant contributions to outdoor conservation, education or activities.

The winner will be announced at the club's annual dinner Nov. 18 at the East Butler Fire Hall.

The speaker at the dinner will be Kevin Patrick, author of "Pennsylvania Caves and other Rocky Roadside Wonders."

Motivational clown visits health center

Larry the Lollipop Clown, a motivational entertainer and speaker, will visit the Mental Health Association at 1 p.m. Wednesday.

BUTLER TWP — Christ Community United Methodist Church will host a Trunk-or-Treat event from 12:30 to 3 p.m. Oct. 29 in the church parking lot, North Duffy Road.Church members will decorate the trunks of their cars and pass out Halloween treats.Children may wear costumes and should take a bag to hold treats.The event will also include a costume parade, mini hay rides and pumpkin painting. Food and cider will be available for purchase.
