KC girls soccer cruises to win

Michelle Sweeney scored three goals Wednesday as Karns City's girls soccer team cruised to a 9-0 victory over East Forest.

The Gremlins (14-3) also received two goals from Allyson Kepple. Samantha Bly, Christina Endlish, Karissa Callender and Emily Potchak all scored single tallies.

Karns City hosts Grove City tonight.

Knoch 7, Blackhawk 2 — Amanda Sharbaugh and P.J.Abels each scored three goals to pace the win.The Knights (10-6-1, 7-3-1) also received a goal fromAlex Gordon in the victory.Knoch will play its final section game Monday at Highlands.

Slippery Rock 10, Commodore Perry 1 — Ryan Gercken continued his torrid goal scoring with three as the Rockets rolled.Gercken now has a team-leading 26 goals this season for SlipperyRock (11-2, 10-2).Wes Craig added three goals, Tyler Mohler two and Michael Ramirez and Devin Hribal also pitched in a goal for Slippery Rock, which will host Wilmington Saturday.TennisThe Butler girls tennis team earned a 5-0 sweep over Seneca Valley in its final match before the WPIAL playoffs begin.The Golden Tornado finished the regular season 12-4 and will await their playoff opponent.
