Junior Women's Club elects chief
The Junior Women's Club of Butler recently elected Nicole Robinson as president for the 2006-07 club year.
Other officers include First Vice President Lyric Schnur; Second Vice President Shannon Shook; Sue Shewalter, corresponding secretary; Sue Hunter, recording secretary; Denise Robinson, treasurer; and Jennifer Friel, assistant treasurer.
This theme for the club year is "Volunteers Are Sweet."
The club's activities include the annual Twilight Magic fundraiser, which raised more than $10,000 last year for community organizations; the City of Butler Easter Egg Hunt; the Gardens at Routes 422 and 8; and answering phones at the BAMA Auction. The club also provides scholarships to high school seniors who actively serve the community.
Robinson joined the Junior Women's Club in 2000. She has served as second vice president, first vice president and Twilight Magic auction chairman. She has also served on various committees.
Outside of the club, Robinson serves as treasurer of the YWCA, chairman of the Block Kids Building Contest and committee member for the Maridon Museum's Chinese New Year Celebration Fundraiser Committee. She is also the past president of the National Association of Women in Construction.
Robinson is employed at Bronder Technical Services. She resides in Butler with her husband, Jason, and their daughter.
