CABOT — Cooper Cabin Pioneer Homestead, 199 Cooper Road, will host it's annual Cider and Sauerkraut Festival from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Pioneer demonstrations include apple-butter making, cider pressing, sauerkraut making, and lap hoop quilting. A spinning demonstration is scheduled from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday.
Tours of the cabin will be provided throughout the festival. Cost is $4 for adults, $2 for youth ages 5 to 17, and free for children under 5.

The Butler County Parks and Recreation Department will sponsor a bus trip to see Bill Cosby Oct. 7 at Heinz Hall in Pittsburgh.A chartered bus will be leaving Alameda park at 5 p.m. for the 7 p.m. performance. HARRISVILLE — Animal Partners of Butler County will sponsor a rabies clinic from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Harrisville Community Park Pavillion.Cost is $6 per animal for a one-year shot.Dogs should be on a leash and cats should be in a carrier. Animals must be at least 13 weeks old.
EAST BRADY — East Brady United Methodist Church will sponsor its Apple-Fest from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the church on Broad Street.The event will include live music by Keith and Tim at 1 p.m., Crossfire Band at 2 p.m. and The Sons of Thunder at 3 p.m.Apple butter will be for sale by the pint or quart, but an exchange jar is required. Apples may also be purchased by the half-peck, peck or bushel.Desserts and drinks will be for sale.
RIMERSBURG — The Eccles-Lesher Memorial Library is now accepting donations to benefit the facility and its programs.Donations can be accepted directly or donors can pay for magazine subscriptions for the library.
NEW CASTLE — The City Rescue Mission, 319 Croton Ave., will host an open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday to celebrate its 95th anniversary.The mission provides services for citizens in need in Butler, Beaver, Lawrence and Mercer counties.Tours of the mission's facilities will be available.
