Resiliency is this bird's new mantra

scoop

I knew I'd bounce back.

All of you beak-busters from last week can eat crow (oops, sorry, my feathered friend) after I accurately predicted nine of 11 games correctly last weekend.

It's time to continue soaring my winning percentage upward.

Time to fly like an eagle, as they say.

Here is my take on this weekend's action:

BUTLER at BETHEL PARK — I love those bird nicknames, but Bethel's Black Hawks used to be Blackhawks, named after an Indian tribe. The Black Hawks have been allowing a lot of yardage and surrendered 239 passing yards last week.Put Butler's passing game on artificial turf and watch it fly. The Tornado will finally secure an elusive victory at this place, but it won't come easily.

Butler, 24-19.BALDWIN at SENECA VALLEY — The Raiders are back home and anxious to win there. They are running the ball well and scoring plenty. Baldwin won't be able to stay with them.

Seneca Valley, 30-14.KARNS CITY at KEYSTONE — The Gremlins try to stay unbeaten against an improved Keystone team on the road. Intriguing game here, but Karns City will show it's still a notch above the Panthers in the KSACpecking order.

Karns City, 21-13.KNOCH at PINE-RICHLAND— It was a barn-burner last year and expect more of the same. The call here is that a field goal will make the difference as the Knights' close, but not close enough story continues against the Rams.

Pine-Richland, 23-20.MARS at NEW BRIGHTON — The Case of the Stolen Practice has been solved and the Planets must look to steal a win on the road against a solid New Brighton team. The guess here is Mars winds up on the positive end of a thriller this time.

Mars, 29-23.

MONITEAU at UNION — Yes, the Golden Knights are improved, but so are the Warriors. Union may keep it close early, but its 23-player roster will be worn out in the second half.

Moniteau, 35-11.FRANKLIN at SLIPPERYROCK— Franklin seems to be an on-again, off-again team, but Slippery Rock has too many players off the field with injuries. That catches up to anybody eventually.

Franklin, 22-11.In other action, I see Freeport getting past Northgate 21-16, West Shamokin edging A-CValley 16-13, Grove City over Reynolds 13-3 and Mohawk defeating Summit Academy 20-12.

Last Week:9-2

Season: 23-11
