A golf scramble benefiting <B>Passavant Memorial Homes</B> was held Aug. 21 at the Cranberry Highlands Golf Course, raising more than $50,000.Twenty-two teams participated in the scramble which raised funds to renovate stained glass windows at Fruth Chapel at Passavant's Rochester Campus.The winning team, with a score 14 under par, was from the law firm of Dillon, McCandless, King, Coulter and Graham.———
Models from the <B>Marilyn E. Kane Modeling School and Agency</B> in Butler recently participated in fundraisers for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, raising $2,106.Twenty-seven models participated in the fundraisers, which included selling cookbooks, collecting pledges and donations, and participating in the Mannequin Modeling for MDA, event held Aug. 21 in Grove City.<B>Kiersta Green</B>, 7, daughter of Yvonne Green of Mars, was the top fundraiser. She and Marilyn Kane, assistant director of the agency, presented the check during the Jerry Lewis MDA Labor Day Telethon.———

A charity foundation in Forward Township raised more than $15,000 on Aug. 18 for nine nonprofit organizations.About 130 golfers representing 43 corporate and business sponsors came to the <B>Nelson Charitable Foundation's </B>14th annual golf tournament.On Thursday, the money was presented to the Evans City Food Cupboard, the Salvation Army, Cub Scout Pack 399, Evans City Library, Evans City Swim Club, Evans City Girl Scouts, EDCO Park, Boy Scout Troop 399 and St. John's Quilters.Jim Nelson, owner of Nelson Financial Services on Evans City Road, started the foundation 14 years ago to raise money for people in need.
