Butler Church of the NazareneThe Rev. Dan and Carolyn Brewer, missionaries for the Church of the Nazarene, will speak at the 10:45 a.m. Sunday service at Butler Church of the Nazarene, 4410 Oakdale Road and Route 68, Butler Township.The couple served in Dominica, West Indies for the past two years, where they trained pastors and led a church congregation. They have also served in Bolivia and Peru, where they served as teachers and pastors and worked to develop new churches.Music for the 10:45 a.m. Sunday service will be provided by Gordon Thompson and the Timbrel Praise Team.The Pittsburgh District's Prime-Time Fall Dinner will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Mount. Chestnut Nazarene Center, 177 North Road, Franklin Township. Speakers and musicians will be Walter Marr, Missy and Dr. Stephen Dillman. Tickets are $12 at the door. Christ Community U.M.Sunday school classes for children, youth and adults will begin at 9:45 a.m. Sunday at Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road. Children age 4 through sixth grade will use the new "I live B.I.G." curriculum.Third graders of the church will be presented with Bibles during both services Sunday."Come and Get It" weekly multigenerational Christian fellowship begins Tuesday. Atailgate party will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Those attending should wear their favorite football team's colors.The food items being collected during September are spaghetti and spaghetti sauce.

Christ's OutreachThe Caravan club of Christ's Outreach Church, 120 Walker Ave. will host its family picnic Saturday.The church golf outing will be held Sunday at Krendale Golf Course. Community LifeCommunity Life Church, McQuistion Elementary School, will kick off its 40 Days of Community Campaign Sunday with a video message by Rick Warren, author of "The Purpose Driven Life." The eight-week message and small group series will discuss the question "What On Earth Am I Here For?"Paper products are being collected Sundays during September for the St. Vincent DePaul Food Cupboard.Sign-ups for the New Believers Class begin this Sunday. Covenant LifeApostle Emanuele Cannistraci will be the guest speaker at 6 p.m. Sept. 24 at Covenant Life Church, 220 New Castle St. Cannistraci has been served as an evangelist, conference speaker and missionary for more than 53 years and has preached in more than 25 countries. Children's Ministry and nursery will be provided. There will be no Sunday morning service.

Covenant PresbyElizabeth "Betty" Anderson, who served as an elder commissioner to the 217th general Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (USA), will lead the Seekers Class Sunday at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. First BaptistFirst Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., will be among congregations participating in a men's retreat from 5:30 p.m. Friday through 2:30 Saturday at the Slippery Rock Baptist Camp, 130 Elliott Lane, Slippery Rock.Milo Thompson of The Villages, Fla., a nationally prominent Bible conference speaker and former president of the Baptist Bible College and Seminary, will be the featured speaker at the event. The retreat is open to men from the Association of Independent Baptist Churches of Western Pennsylvania.Teenagers from the Butler and Grove City First Baptist churches will be involved in cleanup and maintenance projects Saturday at Slippery Rock Baptist Camp. West Sunbury U.P.The June Mission Team, which traveled to Slidell, La., will lead the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at West Sunbury United Presbyterian Church, 215 East Church St., West Sunbury.The congregational hymns at the service will all be hymns written following Hurricane Katrina.Members of the June Mission Team are invited to pick up their DVD from the trip.Members of any of the three mission teams to Slidell are encouraged to wear their Presbyterian Disaster Assistance t-shirt to the service.Following the service, there will be a meeting of all Slidell Mission Team alumni to discuss the possibility of another trip this fall.The fall Bible study will begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Ministries Center.
